Linux Mint 19.3 will not shut down
by Brant from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52NXW)
Yesterday I upgraded from Linux Mint Cinnamon 19 to 19.3, running on a Lenovo Thinkcentre tower.
I started and shut down three or four times without problems, and my impression was that the new installation was cleaner and faster than the old--however on the next shut down I was returned to a screen asking for my password, and when I entered my password I was simply returned to the same screen.
I have 19.3 installed on an SDD, and 18.3 installed on an HDD. I finally shut down via the power bar, and when I restarted chose to open 18.3 which shut down as usual. I then restarted 19.3 and tried to shut down which it did correctly.
So early days ... but is this a common hiccup, and is there a solution?
Thanks.
