Is it required to install http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/network/rtl8188eu/ ?

Hi, I have installed 14.2 on desktop. It is connected using Wifi dongle(rtl8188eu).
After installation, Wifi dongle was detected and working. however, I see rtl8188eu package on SlackBuilds.org and read few posts that for better connectivity, it is better to install driver from https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu. There is package on Slackbuilds.org as well.
Is it really required? I see sometimes fluctuating network speeds. But ,not sure if it is due to current driver. What do you suggest? Keep as it is, or install from GITHUB or install from Slackbuilds.org?
