HP Stream 11 netbook, Ubuntu? Pop!_OS? Fedora?
by ZodWallop from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52ZGE)
I have an old HP Stream 11 Netbook currently running Windows 10.
System specs are:
Intel Celeron N3060 1.1GHz
4GB RAM
32GB Hard drive
Here's the Amazon page, in case I missed any important details: HP Stream 11
The problem I have is the 32 GB hard drive. Windows 10 takes up so much space that there is not enough space left to download and install updates.
I've since moved on to a Surface, but I've always been curious about Linux, particularly Ubuntu and Gnome 3.
Ubuntu would likely be my go-to, but the system requirements of 25GB worries me.
I'm also looking at Fedora and Pop! Pop! seems as friendly to newbies as Ubuntu. Fedora has the smallest hard drive requirements.
I only use the netbook for web browsing and email. So I don't think I'll need to install much software. Maybe Calibre.
Any advice for me? Is the Celeron too weak to run Gnome?
