macOS Activity Monitor does not update
by rhimbo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53086)
macOS Catalina 10.15.4
iMac, Late 2015
Activity Monitor no longer updates the process list in its "Disk" and "Network" views.
The graph at the bottom updates and appears to be fairly accurate. But the process lists are frozen and not even current. They seem to be the same as when I noticed the problem a month ago.
I've deleted 32-bit apps, disabled ALL extensions and deleted other libraries and plug-ins such as Adobe Flash.
"top" and "iostat" seem to be working so I am skeptical that I have a hardware problem.
Posting this question here as the arrogant profligate patronizing p*%$#+ on the Apple discussion forums offer no help other than a cursory "you have a hardware bug".
I've also run EtreCheck but it doesn't indicate anything promising. I only ran the free version. I'm sick and tired of dumping money into this crap. This is my last Apple product. Period....
Any suggestions appreciated.
