The Baltimore Ravens have no basis to accuse Earl Thomas of violating his contract and, therefore, can't void the guaranteed money on his deal, a source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

It was reported Thursday that the Ravens were looking into whether the safety violated his contract during a recent incident involving his wife. Nina Thomas reportedly pointed a gun at her husband's head after discovering a video of him with another woman. She was arrested, while he wasn't.

The Ravens were also investigating whether Thomas reported the incident to the team in a prompt fashion.

Thomas has $10 million guaranteed to him in 2020. He's entering the second season of a four-year, $55-million contract, which he signed on the heels of a decorated tenure with the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite earning a Pro Bowl selection in his first campaign with Baltimore, Thomas reportedly irked teammates and coaches by straying from the defensive system and struggling to learn the scheme.

A void of his guarantees could pave the way for the Ravens to release Thomas.

Thomas, who turned 31 on Thursday, had 49 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions for Baltimore in 2019.
