Cannot use PC after update of slackpkg and kernel image
by SlackQc from LinuxQuestions.org on (#538M0)
Hello,
I will try to be as precise as possible, I cannot copy / paste anything from the pc.
First, I want to clarify that the pc boot on EFI, so elilo is installed instead lilo.
After selecting my mirror from the /etc/slackpkg/mirrors file, I run slacpkg update gpg, then slackpkg update and finally slackpkg upgrade-all.
Thereafter, I have a return saying that slackpkg has been updated, and that I have to relaunch the upgrade to finalize.
when I relaunch slackpkg upgrade-all, I get a bunch of messages saying, No such file or directory, for the whole system, grep, cat, vim, fdisk, firefox, thunar, etc.
Then I am asked if I want lilo to be run because the kernel image has been upgraded, at this point, it's over, I can absolutely do nothing, because, even if I enter 'n' I get this message:
Code:=====================================================================================
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
=====================================================================================
One or more errors occured while slackpkg was runing:
/usr/libexec/slackpkg/core-functions.sh: line 18: /bin/cat: No such file or directory
=====================================================================================From that moment, it's dead, over.
The only commands that work, are cd and pwd, since this morning, I search in the slackware documentation, I also do research on google, but I find nothing, all the solutions that I find are impossible to do, because I have no access to an editor (vim, vi, emacs, etc.)
