Do Debian kernel updates require special attention if you're using mdadm arrays?
by road hazard from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53AX7)
My boot drive is a SSD and I have a mdadm raid 6 array mounted to /mnt/md0. This is a fresh install of Debian 10.3 that is maybe a week or so old and has been working perfectly. Debian released 10.4 recently and this morning, I upgraded to that version and noticed that one of the changes was Kernel 4.19.0-8 has been upgraded to 4.19.0-9. After booting into -9, my mdadm array is no longer being mounted at start up. When new Kernels come along like that, is there anything I need to do on my side or does this sound like a bug?
I changed my Grub file so 4.19.0-8 is the default kernel and I'm back up and running with my array but not sure how to fix things with -9. Or, should I file a bug report with Debian?
