slackware.uk bittorrent seedbox service

I just wanted to announce the existence of slackware.uk's new bittorrent seedbox service, which is now available at: https://seedbox.slackware.uk/.

Thanks to the hosting sponsor, I've been provided a new server for use by slackware.uk. So I decided that one of the VMs I will run on the server (along with a backup of the projects hosted on slackware.uk) would be a bittorrent seed.

I know it may not sound like much use at the moment, but when it comes to release day, the extra gigabit of bandwidth will allow faster distribution of the Slackware ISOs for those who choose to download via bittorrent, rather than a direct download via HTTP or FTP.

The 14.2 ISOs are being seeded as I type this, and I have provided 'magnet' links on the website to make it even easier for people to get the torrents - one click in a suitably configured browser, and your bittorrent download begins. This is, IMO, more preferable to having to download a .torrent file and manually add it to your torrent client. Of course the .torrent files are also available on the website.

These torrents are the OFFICIAL ISO images released by Pat, using the exact same torrent tracker as the original .torrent files provided on release day for 14.2; so there's no fear of any tampering - the MD5 sums will match those published and signed by Pat.

Please take a moment to check out the sponsors to see if they provide any services you may be interested in purchasing, and keep them in mind - they've both really come through for slackware.uk both in the past and the present.

Finally, if you use slackware.uk's services and have the means, please consider becoming a patron by visiting the slackware.uk Patreon page - Patreons receive additional incentives. Alternatively, please see the slackware.uk website for the option to make a one off or recurring PayPal donation. All donations, no matter how large or small, are gratefully recieved.

Thanks for reading this, and I hope people will begin to use and recommend the bittorrent seeding service to newcomers as an option to quickly download ISOs.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=nIgOO2nIaM0:fy5Sv51l5rI:F7zBnMy latest?i=nIgOO2nIaM0:fy5Sv51l5rI:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=nIgOO2nIaM0:fy5Sv51l5rI:gIN9vFwnIgOO2nIaM0
