Kubuntu - Unable To See Local Network (Windows) Shares
by swinefleetmutineer from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53BYF)
Just installed Kubuntu 20.04. Very pleased with it. But I cannot see/find any of the shares on the local network, my wife's PC, network hard drive -attached to our router.
Tried smb4k, samba, nothing works. I installed Virtualbox and installed Ubuntu with Gnome then Ubuntu Mate. Out of the box with no additional configuration, I click on Network and the Windows shares were there on both!
So how do I do this with KDE? Surely it can't be so difficult?
I prefer KDE, always have and have never had any issues like this before.
Anyone help? Before I install Mate or even XFCE, no way would I consider Gnome - even if someone paid me!
