Wifi network adapter not recognized

I wanted to test my limited skill by installing and configuring arch Linux. After several attempts and fixing a bios setting I have managed to get it installed. During installation I was able to use wifi-menu to connect. Now that it boots correctly I can't get WiFi to work. I hooked up a cable and installed a desktop environment. I thought maybe I could the GUI to set up WiFi. My wireless adapter is not recognized. I have tried some to search for some fix but have not been successful yet. Can someone get me started down the right path
