Squashfs filesystem could not be mounted error
by austinramsay from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53S3M)
Hello,
Attempting to install Gentoo (from a 05/08/2020 minimal install CD) on a Sun Ultra 5 SPARC system. Upon booting from the CD, I come across an error when the squashfs filesystem is attempted to mounted.
Code:>> Determining looptype ...
>> Mounting squashfs filesystem
mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on /newroot/mnt/livecd failed: Invalid argument
!! Squashfs filesystem could not be mounted, dropping into shell.
>> Welcome to Genkernel 4.0.7 (2020-05-10 18:32:47 UTC) rescue shell!
>> ...running Linux kernel 5.4.38-gentoo-sparc64
rescueshell /newroot #Could someone shed some light on what exactly could be failing or where I could find a log file that shows some more information about the issue?
My system specs of this Ultra 5:
270MHz UltraSPARC IIi
128MB RAM
20GB IDE hard drive
IDE CD-ROM drive
Thanks in advance,
Austin
