[SOLVED] 3rd party apps not launching

Hi-
Is something going on with launching 3rd party apps with ubuntu gnome. Is there an easy fix? 18.04
I found a good article that explains it. I will be looking at flatpacks soon.
If anyone runs into this just use something like konqueror.
