The New York Jets would want a first-round pick and a third-rounder in a trade involving Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.

New York reportedly still intends to ink Adams to an extension, but stalled negotiations have seemed to irk the 24-year-old star.

Adams came up in trade rumors at the October deadline last season, much to his dismay. He openly questioned why New York would entertain moving him, comparing his stature in the organization to that of Aaron Donald with the Los Angeles Rams and Tom Brady with the New England Patriots.

Adams is looking to surpass Eddie Jackson as the NFL's highest-paid safety, meaning an extension would likely come in at $15 million or more annually.

The Jets previously exercised the fifth-year option on Adams' rookie contract, tying him to the club through the 2021 campaign.

Adams has 273 tackles, 12 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two interceptions in three seasons with the Jets. He skipped New York's voluntary virtual program in April in an effort to accelerate contract talks.
