Difference between Debian and Ubuntu...?
by rhimbo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53W9B)
Hello folks,
I used Debian about 15 years ago. I'm not looking for a good distro to act as my professional and personal primary system.
I recently installed Ubuntu but I'm not really happy with it. Could someone outline the major differences (and similarities) between Debian and Ubuntu? I believe Ubuntu derives from Debian, but I'm also interested in the "ease of use" factor with respect to GUI-based tools and just the user friendliness.
I just tried Manjaro at the suggestion of a friend and I was appalled at the simplistic, unsophisticated, badly organized desktop experience.
Thanks,
