pidgin sipe

Anyone managed to compile on 14.1/14.2/current Pidgin's SIPE plugin (Office Communicator/Lync/Skype for Business) including audio/video support? The chat/IM support works fine.
Sipe's configure gives:
No package 'purple-3' found
checking for purple voice and video support... no - your purple hasn't been compiled with voice and video support.
Standard Slackware only includes pidgin 2.x/purple-2. If I get it right, only the devel/unreleased version of pidgin (3.x) includes purple-3 which in turn supports SIPE with AV. Just my theories, thanks for any insights.
