How To Secure KDE Connect?

I'm running KTown on May -Current and saw some odd behaviour apparently involved with KDE Connect. Since I'm currently, no pun intended ;) , still using an old flip phone I have zero need afaik for KDE Connect, but by the end of this year I will have to "upgrade" to a smartphone and unfortunately 1) Neither Librem5 or Pine64 is actually ready for prime time, afaik, and 2) before I re-enable kdeconnect, I want to be certain it is secure.
I do plan to research this on my own as well but I would like to see some tips from people already using it
