Hi! Finally decided to post here. long time user of linux distros and programming. How do I get to the next level?

I've used everything from Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, RedHat, CentOS, Debian, SecBSD. But I just have never been satisfied with those distros, I want a custom one. I've been looking at Arch Linux quite a bit, can anyone with experience tell me what I will need to know and learn? I know C and Assembly but am not great, though I enjoy it.
