Hamilton police have identified man found dead on Jackson Square rooftop
Hamilton police say they've identified a man whose body was found on the rooftop of Jackson Square last month.
Police issued an appeal early Friday morning asking for help identifying the man who was found May 2.
Within hours, police received several calls from the community and identified the man as a 28-year-old.
His death is not suspicious.
Police said he has ties to the Hamilton community and lived a transient lifestyle. He was known to frequent Hamilton's downtown core.
Next of kin have been notified, police said.
Police were called to the rooftop of 2 King St. W. shortly before 8 p.m. May 2 for two men lying on the ground, police said. One man woke up and walked away, but the other was unresponsive and pronounced dead on scene.
He had no identification and there were no missing person reports that matched his profile.
Police released photographs of his belongings and a composite sketch of the man early Friday.
