Plasma Unable to Login?
by haziz from LinuxQuestions.org on (#54DEE)
I just installed Slackware Current with KDE Plasma 5 from AlienBob's Plasma Live Slack ISO (dated 5/26/2020). After restarting I get to the login screen which displays normally, when however I try to login, the screen flashes briefly as if it is about to start then returns to a normal graphical login screen. I tried to change to the X version, Wayland, and the fallback DE but still no luck, trying to login into XFCE from the same screen also fails.
BTW, the live ISO had booted and worked normally, including a normal Plasma login, indeed I installed using a graphical terminal, while using Firefox in the meantime (the install from this ISO takes significantly longer than a "normal" Slackware install.
Addendum: I tried to login as root, and was successful but still seem unable to login as user, so it seems to be either a privileges thing or a configuration issue. I am able to login in as the regular user in a TTY terminal, so it is not an issue with a mistyped password.
Thanks in advance.
