The NFL strengthened its message of support for the black community over the last week, and several players believe one of the next steps would be Colin Kaepernick returning to the league.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan appreciated the NFL condemning racial injustice following the death of George Floyd in police custody, and he suggests Kaepernick should now be given a chance to resume his career.

"I think he should have every opportunity (to be on a roster)," Ryan said, according to ESPN's Vaughn McClure. "(Kaepernick) created awareness for a situation that - it's taking some time - but people are becoming more active in terms of their response to it. So I think from that standpoint his protest is being heard.

"I think he should have every opportunity to have a job and to have a spot in this league," he continued.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to state whether he'll allow demonstrations during the national anthem in 2020, but he said the league was "wrong for not listening" to players who previously protested.

Kaepernick and his supporters believe the passer was blackballed after he began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016. The 32-year-old reportedly continues to train daily, hoping for a comeback opportunity.
