Blu Ray on linux Mint 18.2

I have a new Blu Ray/DVD desktop drive (LG WH16NS40), and want to burn and play bluray disks.
The driver info I can find seems outdated and iffy - sort of worked, but not really, in 2018 - 2019....
Is there a bluray driver package download for Mint that doesn't cost as much as the Drive itself cost, that WILL work?
Ideally, the program would be able to handle "HD" disks as well....
I am running Mint Cinnamon 18.2 with a 3.5 Ghz i7, 64GB SSD & 1Tb HDD, 16 Gb Ram @1600 Mhz; ATI HD 5850 Video bd w/ 1 GB VRAM.....and would be using VLC Media Player if possible
