lilo returns 'Warning: Video adapter (CGA) is incompatible with the boot loader selected for installation ('install = menu'). '
by RandomTroll from LinuxQuestions.org on (#54S5S)
It appears that lilo thinks my video adapter is CGA, thus rejects the video mode I specify in /etc/lilo.conf. What does lilo use to detect the video adapter? This comes with the problem that it displays nothing at boot.
It happened after I upgraded the kernel from 5.7.2 to 5.7.3 and persists when I boot into 5.7.2.
The BIOS Data Area (does anybody still use that?) used to have this information. How would I rewrite it? Or is it the Extended BIOS Data Area, which apparently still exists. How do I edit that?
