need help with a amd onboard gpu
by rKellerm from LinuxQuestions.org on (#54SZY)
I have been on this forum in hardware section looking for a solution to a nagging driver problem with an Amd onboard gpu. Someone told me to switch over to this specific centos section to find help. My latest issue was when I did an automatic suggested upgrade to kernel. I am not a seasoned user but have been using centos for a couple of years. After the kernel update the amdgpu driver won't load. I have error logs etc. with specific info. I am wondering if downgrading the kernel would fix the error since it did work before updating and even if that's feasible? I have also tried some of the AMD proprietary drivers to try to fix it. Some of which are still installed. in short I have a mess and don't know how to get back to sanity.
I had 3.10.0-1062.18.1.el7 running before the update.
Now it's running 3.10.0-1127.el7.x86_64.
I am looking for a solution that does not involve reinstalling the OS.
Any ideas appreciated!
Roger
