More than nine and half months ago, Brandon Pollock left his lower-city home in Hamilton. Perhaps, later that same day, went swimming near the lift bridge in Lake Ontario.

He hasn't been seen since.

Hamilton police issued a release on June 22 reminding the public that they're continuing the search for the 31-year-old. They're asking anyone with information to come forward.

Brandon was seen leaving his residence near Herkimer Street and Caroline Street just after 4 a.m. on Sept. 10, 2019.

Police say boaters reported an unusual encounter with a swimmer after seeing the missing person report.

Later in the day, Sept. 10, three boaters observed a person swimming about one kilometre off the Lake Ontario shoreline, in the boat channel, near the lift bridge.

The boaters passed by the swimmer twice to check on him, but the swimmer insisted he was OK.

The boaters provided photos and video they took of the encounter to police. Pollock's family members believe that it was him in the video.

Police say the circumstances in Pollock's disappearance were out of character" for him.

He is described as a Caucasian man, 165 pounds with a medium build.

Pollock is also described as having an active lifestyle, including mountain climbing. He takes local transit or walks and frequents Bayfront Park and Hamilton's downtown core.

Anyone with information is asked to call 905-961-1876.
