Check out how Ghost of Tsushima's katana combat has evolved

Ghost of Tsushima is the last big upcoming PS4 exclusive and ahead of its release, the developers of Sucker Punch have shared some new details about how the combat changed over time. This meant taking human reaction time of needing (on average) 0.3 seconds to react to anything being shown.
Early on, this meant that any enemy could be quickly beat by simply spamming rapid attacks. A fix for this was found but not, Sucker Punch amusingly notes, until after Hideo Kojima visited the studio and tried the combat out.
While enemies can't attack faster that you can react, enemy attacks can be layered. This means you don't see Jin's foes standing around doing nothing - many of them will attack you at the same time. You can take a look at a bit of new combat gameplay in the Tweet below.

Ghost of Tsushima is set to release for PS4 on July 17, 2020. While no PS5 upgrade has been detailed as yet, Ghost of Tsushima will at minimum be playable on PS5 through backward compatibility. For more on Ghost of Tsushima, you can check out more from the recent State of Play here.
