Report: Redskins removing anti-integration founder from Ring of Fame

The Washington Redskins are removing the name of anti-integration founder George Preston Marshall from their Ring of Fame, a source told ESPN's John Keim.

A statue of Marshall was already removed from RFK Stadium by Events DC.

Marshall founded the Redskins in 1932 but was the last NFL owner to integrate. Washington is also taking him off the Redskins' history wall that sits outside the locker room of their practice facility at Redskins Park, according to Keim.

Marshall owned the Redskins, who initially played in Boston, until his death in 1969. The owner of two NFL championships, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963 as a contributor.
