LILO root device specification
by bifferos from LinuxQuestions.org on (#558EV)
Hi,
Is it possible to change the root device parameter in lilo after it's run, so I can boot from a device not present at the time I run lilo?
It looks like the string "ro root=801" appears in /boot/map, so if I edit that location (without relocating the /boot/map clusters) will that work? Is there an easier way?
thanks!
Biff.
