Debian 10 - 32gigs of ram but still using a little swap?

So my system information:
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-9-amd64
Architecture: x86-64
Also: Xfce
So me being a moderate careless beginner, I clicked through the installation paying attention to the primary areas I believed to be of the upmost importance. I forgot to take a look at swap as I'm usually installing on an extremely low end laptop. This installation however was on my primary gaming system. Thus it seems to have allocated 32 gigs of swap. (Completely unnecessary I know, but whats done is done.)
Now as far as I under stand, The primary function of swap space is to substitute disk space for RAM memory when real RAM fills up and more space is needed. In my case I can't really see that actually happening. However, When I pop open htop from time to time I see that its using small bits of swap, anywhere from 1Mb to 10Mb. Why on earth is this happening and how might I fix it?
