RTL8821ce support on linux not based on ubuntu?

My computer uses a RTL8821ce wireless network adapter and I can use clone it from a guy on github but it isn't getting active developement. is there a way to get wifi without using this:https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce ? Like, on some distros, sudo can't be used so how would I get connectivity? Thanks for any help.
