Issue connecting to hardwired internet with Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
by GLantern84 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#55FX7)
Hello,
I am wanting to connect my Lenovo thinkpad with core i5 vpro to an internet hardwired connection.
I am using Linux Mint 19.3 cinnamon version 4.4.8, linux kernel 5.3.0-62-generic, with an Intel(C) CoreTM i5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz * 2, 7.7 GiB memory, and 114.9 GB hard drive. I want to connect it via a hardwired internet connection through a Netgear 5 port Gigabit ethernet port unmanaged switch GS305v3. The Netgar 5 port is hard wired with ethernet from a router from spectrum, and my laptop is hardwired with ethernet from 1 of the 5 ports. My laptop seems to recognize there is a connection, but does not draw internet connection from it. I can only use wifi.
I am new to linux, but know a few things. I've run a few commands, just haven't found an answer yet. Can you help me please?
Thanks!
