Introduction of Bob as a new member of the LinuxQuestions.org community

Good afternoon,
My name is Bob and I am very happy to be a new member of the LinuxQuestions.org community. I am very new to Linux.
This past May, 2020 I was fortunate to be able to install Debian 9 9.5 Stretch i386 on my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop without any difficulties. During the installation, I intentionally removed it's original Windows Vista operating system. The Linux system is working very well.
Presently, I am troubleshooting the installation of the same Debian Linux distribution on a Compaq 6000 Series computer. I have run into problems and am preparing questions for posting in the near future.
Until then, I am happy to be a community member and gaining experience working with Linux.
