Can we opt out security and crypto features completely from Linux kernel?

Hi,
Can we configure Crypto feature completely removed from linux kernel,compile and use (or) is there any hard dependency with that in any of the bare minimum mandatory kernel feature's implementations?
I have the same query and doubt for security feature also.
I have this doubt if I develop a embedded board which is standalone and no networking option.
Please reply!
