Dual-monitor Not Working bc of Secure Boot
by ston0864 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#55VDR)
First time poster, short time Linux user (about a 9 mos). I'm having trouble getting my Linux Mint 20 Cinammon OS to recognize an external monitor. I've tried multiple monitors and HDMI cords, to no avail. Xrandr doesn't appear to recognize the monitor either. I'm almost positive the reason is because Secure Boot is enabled from the Bios. The problem is, everytime I disable Secure Boot, my computer boots to the Linux Mint logo, then a black screen, and then that's it.
My hardware is a Predator Triton 500 that originally had Windows installed. I just upgraded to Linux Mint 20 Cinammon from 19.3. The same issue plagued me with 19.3 so I don't think it has to do with the upgrade (went smoothly for me for the most part).
If anyone can help me disable the Secure Boot, without my system crashing, I think the dual monitors should work, according to other forums. Thanks so much in advance for any help anyone can give.
