Hot, humid weekend ahead for the Hammer
It's hot out there, Hamilton, and it's only going to get hotter.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the city, citing an increasing humid air mass expected to stick around until Sunday.
Daytime temperatures this weekend will reach as high as 34 C with overnight lows dropping to a tepid 20 to 24 C.
Saturday will be sunny with little cloud coverage overhead, a high of 33 C is expected along with the humidex hitting a very sweaty 40. The UV index will be in the very high range so anyone outdoors should take the proper precautions - sunscreen, hats, frequent water breaks and avoidance of any physical exertion.
Sunday may bring some relief, but not much. A mix of sun and cloud with a high of 31 C and a slight chance of showers.
Slightly cooler and less humid conditions are expected to arrive Monday. And for that we should all be grateful.
