Slackware on old computers

I do not have a question, rather an observation about my reason for using slackware. I like to revive older computers. A few years ago I purchased a cheap second hand computer, a Dell Optiplex SX 270. I tried all kinds of linux-distro's on it. The only distro I could run on it without flaws was Slackware. I used it with pleasure for many years. Now I bought a very cheap old laptop, a HP Compaq 6710b. Tried several distro's, like Debian and lxle (long boottimes, seems to hang long-time on boot-errors), NetBSD (no linux-distro actually, caused distorted screendisplay), AntiX (cpu got very hot at about 80 degrees, fans running at crazy speed). I probably could have sorted all these issues out with a lot of effort. The only OS running from start without any issue, bug or flaw was Slackware. I like to thank Patrick Volkerding for this amazing distro. It is seriously the most stable of all and also very suited to keep old computers alive!latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=p6Moe-Svv4U:LlfiWppbt1M:F7zBnMy latest?i=p6Moe-Svv4U:LlfiWppbt1M:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=p6Moe-Svv4U:LlfiWppbt1M:gIN9vFwp6Moe-Svv4U
