Spanish authorities are insisting the country remains a safe destination for tourists after a rise in Covid-19 cases led the British government to warn against all non-essential" travel to mainland Spain and ordered returning visitors to self-quarantine for a fortnight.
The British government's sudden, de facto travel ban took many in Spain and the UK by surprise.
