Xfce and Double Suspend to RAM
by upnort from LinuxQuestions.org on (#56A62)
Slackware 14.2 64-bit. Lenovo T400 laptop. Xfce and Xscreensaver.
On my laptop I seldom need or want to use suspend to RAM (sleep). There is a curiosity though with Xfce/Screensaver when I press Fn to awaken the system.
The Xscreensaver unlock dialog appears. I provide a password and the display returns. After a few seconds the system reverts to sleep.
The second time I press Fn there is no Xscreensaver unlock dialog, but the system again has to restore the network connection.
I have a lot of custom tweaks on this laptop and I could well be the cause of the double sleep. For comparison though would be nominally helpful if others shared their Xfce/Xscreensaver behavior.
I don't have KDE installed. I have MATE installed where I don't see the same behavior.
This is an annoyance and not mission critical.
Thanks for your help. :)
