Best Linux to use with file recover program
by carlmart from LinuxQuestions.org on (#56BBQ)
I dod use Linux in the past to recover files from my HDDs, and it had been more effective than Windows tools in doing so.
Now I have a similar program: a folder I deleted the files by mistake, and I want to recover the files.
My pick should be a recover program that is cost free, and one I found that seems promising is R-Linux.
The question is under which Linux OS to run it from. My last Linux CD I used was Linux Puppy, but I don't know if R-Linux will run with it. Will it?
So I have been looking for other OS to run from a USB stick, but my luck with Debian and Ubuntu has been dreadful. I can't seem to run the OS.
Is there other Linux OS I could use to run R-Linux that you would recommend?
Thanks a lot!
