‘Idiotic’: Suspected racers accused of flying down busy Burlington street at 124 km/h
Two drivers are facing racing and stunt driving charges after Halton Regional Police clocked their SUVs going more than double the speed limit in Burlington.
The incident occurred Thursday night around 6 p.m. around Fairview and Brant streets, police said.
The SUVs were clocked at 124 km/h in the posted 60 km/h zone.
Last time we checked, Fairview Street wasn't a drag strip," Halton police said in a tweet, adding drivers need to slow down."
Police added the pair were charged with racing, stunt and speeding charges and were given seven-day driver's licence suspensions in addition to their vehicles being impounded for seven days.
Idiotic and highly dangerous," tweeted Carol Nbati, who lives near the Walmart.
