slackware-current, slackpkg and /extra/pure-alsa-system
by deNiro from LinuxQuestions.org on (#572KK)
I recently did an install of slackware-current on my laptop.
The laptop is somewhat older, So I wanted to keep it lean. Pulseaudio was quite often using 100% cpu, so I used the instructions in /extra/pure-alsa-system, to move to alsa only.
But yesterday I tried to do a "slackpkg upgrade-all", and it showed me that it wanted to upgrade some of the packages that I had replaced from /extra/pure-alsa-system. So I did not proceed with the upgrade.
Does it mean I now have to manually upgrade every time, because I installed something from the extra directory? Or should I start blacklisting? or is there another option to just upgrade-all without overwriting the pure-alsa packages with the default stuff?
