Just upgraded to Buster and can no longer input Chinese characters
by GabiAPF from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5733M)
I was running Debian Jessie and was able to use English, Spanish and Chinese input methods with fcitx.
Then yesterday I upgraded to Stretch and then Buster, and I was able to configure the input method preferences to support English, Spanish and Hanyu Pinyin. The problem is, while both English and Spanish work, I can't input Chinese characters. I can select the Hanyu Pinyin method, but all that comes out are English characters.
I tried setting the active configuration to fcitx, and then to ibus, and I have he same problem with both.
Could anyone please help me sort this out?
Thanks in advance.
