NFL hasn't ruled out instituting postseason bubble

The NFL is moving ahead with the 2020 season without the use of a bubble, but the league hasn't ruled out the idea of sequestering teams for the postseason.

NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said on Wednesday that New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton recommended using a bubble for the playoffs and the league hasn't dismissed the idea.

"All options are on the table," Vincent said, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Both the NBA and NHL have chosen bubbles or hub cities for their respective postseason and both leagues have gone weeks without a positive case of COVID-19.

Currently, the NFL is going ahead with its season with individual teams choosing whether to bar fans from stadiums or allow a limited capacity.

Vincent added that an outside committee will aid commissioner Roger Goodell with COVID-19-related decisions throughout the season, according to Pro Football Talk.
