TrendMicro Deep Security agent for Linux
by PC_load_letter from LinuxQuestions.org on (#573RK)
Hi all, apologies for my 1st post here to be on this ridiculous subject. So, apparently the geniuses within the security team in my company decided to use TM Deep Security agent and run it on ALL AWS instances we use for development.
These instances are part of our own VPC zone, running Ubuntu, where access is restricted by VPN, and completely isolated from outside world, aside from known repos to install stuff. I use these instances for ML work, running python/tensorflow and what not where every drop of performance can make a tangible difference.
So is there any justification to run such tool? Even if there are any security concerns, wouldn't SE Linux do a better job? Pls enlighten me if I am missing something here.
Thanks.
