LS_Colors -- why are some dirs highlighted

I have installed wsl and ubuntu 2004 and fooling around with the cli. I am somewhat perplexed about ls_colors.
When I run a ls command most of the directories that I have made show up as blue but highligted in green. At first I thought these were directories made by me.
I tried to find out where LS_Colors file directs that hightlight but I can't discover where the highlight is.
Can someone tell me why some directories are hightlighted but not all?
