Hamilton police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect after a 61-year-old cyclist was intentionally pushed off his bike on the Waterfront Trail last week.

The victim was cycling about 200 metres east of Wild Water Works around 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 when police allege he was pushed.

The man suffered multiple non-life threatening injuries from the fall. He was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment.

The suspect is believed to have been walking a small black dog at the time, police said. He may have been with a woman and two children.

The suspect is described as a white man, six-foot-two, with a large build, around 240 pounds, clean shaven and with short brown hair. He wore a light blue T-shirt and dark athletic shorts.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed the assault, is asked to contact the on-duty east end patrol staff sergeant at 905-546-2963.

To remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit crimestoppershamilton.com.
