fingerprint login does not work in CentOS 8

I just installed CentOS 8 fresh on a lenovo laptop. This laptop has a usb fingerprint reader.
I was able to enable 'Fingerprint Login' in my Account Settings. It asked me to scan my finger 5 times and then it said I should be able to login using fingerprint. Now on Login page, it says to enter password or swipe finger. When I swipe finger, nothing happens. How can I make this login work with finger scanning?
