Report: Buccaneers discussing contract extension with Lavonte David
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in negotiations to extend linebacker Lavonte David, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
David is entering the last season of a five-year, $50.2-million extension he signed in 2015 and is set to earn $10.75 million in 2020.
The 30-year-old, who was drafted in the second round in 2012, has played his entire NFL career for the Buccaneers, totalling 121 appearances over eight seasons. He's led Tampa Bay in tackles in all but one campaign (2016).
After missing multiple games due to injury in 2017 and 2018, the one-time Pro Bowler played in 16 games last season, racking up 123 tackles, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one interception.
