I use very old computers, so should I avoid rolling-release?

I've ventured into the Arch distro family. I knew it was rolling-release, but I did not understand this that I just read on https://www.fosslinux.com/2805/linux...is-better.htm:

Quote:
If you have an older computer whose hardware is recognized and supported by the distribution you want to use, then point release is for you. That way, you can make sure that your PC will never land in trouble due to hardware compatibility later on.
Well, I have to pause and think about that, because both of my computers are very old. This laptop is a ThinkPad T420, and my other laptop is a ThinkPad X201. So, is it a questionable idea of me to run Arch-based distros?

I have posted this in Linux general because it's really about rolling-release, not Arch or a variant.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=jSdG9RnQYUo:UDnga7fplDY:F7zBnMy latest?i=jSdG9RnQYUo:UDnga7fplDY:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=jSdG9RnQYUo:UDnga7fplDY:gIN9vFwjSdG9RnQYUo
