Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't letting critics deter him from speaking about social justice issues.

When asked Saturday about the negative comments he received from fans regarding voting rights and the Black Lives Matter movement, Mahomes said he's going to continue doing what he believes is right.

"I'm going to do whatever I can to fight for equality for all people. And I feel like I've shown that over the offseason and I'm going to continue that fight," he explained, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. "I'm not worried about people and how they're going to do negative stuff back to me. I'm worried about doing what's right for humanity and making sure all people feel equal."

Mahomes was among the NFL players featured in a video released in June calling on the league to condemn racism and admit it was wrong for silencing players from peacefully protesting. He also offered support to NBA players in their efforts against racial injustice and police brutality.
