For Sale: Hamilton’s old Triple rinks can be yours for $4.5 million

If you want your own private arena, there's one up for sale for almost $4.5 million.

Wentworth Arenas - owned and operated by Wentworth Arenas Inc. - is on a real estate website and available for $4,499,990. It's located on a 14-acre lot at 1249 Wilson St. E. in Ancaster.

The facility is 80,000 square feet, and as the advertisement states there is plenty of parking."

A request for comment from the owner wasn't returned. And attempts to talk to the realtor were unsuccessful.

The arena has two ice rinks, two indoor soccer fields, a fully-licensed sports bar/restaurant with a 10-foot television screen that is able to host about 150 people for gatherings.

As part of the coronavirus protocols, the facility is allowing a maximum number of 22 people on the playing surface. Masks are mandatory and must be worn by participants and spectators at all times inside the facility.

Ancaster Coun. Lloyd Ferguson was a bit surprised that the facility was on the selling block.

There is a lot of land around there that could be attractive for some people," he said.

In the past, the arena has held adult indoor and outdoor soccer and hockey leagues. According to its website, the facility has been operating in Ancaster since 2001.
